Guest Rules, Safety Guidelines & Property Policy

Welcome to Konkan Kuteera Ayurgrama & Homestay, Kundapura. Please follow these guidelines to help keep every stay peaceful, comfortable, and safe.

Important Notice

By staying at Konkan Kuteera, guests agree to follow reasonable property rules, safety instructions, and applicable laws. Non-compliance may lead to a warning, restriction from unsafe activities, or termination of stay where justified and lawful.

Guests are responsible for their conduct and for supervising children or dependants in their care. Nothing in these rules excludes or limits any duty of care or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Backwater Safety & Personal Responsibility

  1. Water, riverbanks, and surrounding areas can be dangerous; exercise extreme caution.
  2. Swimming, diving, or entering backwaters is prohibited unless management expressly permits it in a designated safe area.
  3. Children must be supervised at all times, especially near water, steps, balconies, and open areas.
  4. Do not enter the water during rain, strong currents, darkness, or unsafe conditions; never jump from banks, rocks, or elevated areas.
  5. After consuming alcohol/intoxicants, stay away from slippery riverbanks and restricted areas.
  6. No dangerous activities or stunts. Report accidents, injuries, hazards, or emergencies to management immediately.

Property & Belongings

  1. Use rooms, furniture, appliances, fittings, linen, and all property carefully.
  2. Report damage, breakage, loss, or theft immediately.
  3. Reasonable repair/replacement costs may apply for guest-caused damage or loss, subject to fair assessment and applicable law.
  4. Do not remove towels, linen, pillows, furniture, décor, utensils, or other property without permission.
  5. Do not move heavy furniture, dismantle fittings, or tamper with electrical equipment.
  6. Report existing damage or malfunctions promptly after check-in.

Strictly No Wall Scribbling or Vandalism

  1. No writing, drawing, scratching, carving, painting, sticking stickers, or marks on walls, doors, furniture, mirrors, or other surfaces.
  2. Guest-caused stains, permanent marks, or damage may incur reasonable cleaning, restoration, or repair charges.
  3. Please respect the effort invested in maintaining the property.

Room Cleanliness & Hygiene

  1. Keep rooms, bathrooms, balconies, and common areas clean and tidy.
  2. Do not dry clothes on wooden furniture, in open areas, or on railings; ask management for the designated drying area.
  3. Never discard food waste, plastic, cigarette butts, or rubbish in the river, garden, lawn, or surroundings.
  4. Do not flush sanitary products, wipes, or unsuitable materials into toilets.
  5. Avoid staining bedsheets, towels, mattresses, or upholstery.
  6. Exceptional cleaning/restoration due to misuse may be chargeable.

Alcohol, Smoking & Prohibited Activities

  1. Illegal drugs, narcotics, and unlawful activities are strictly prohibited.
  2. Smoking is allowed only in designated areas, where available; never smoke in rooms or near flammable materials.
  3. Alcohol must be consumed lawfully and responsibly without nuisance, unsafe behaviour, or disturbance.
  4. Fighting, abuse, harassment, threats, excessive noise, and unlawful activity are not tolerated.
  5. Fireworks, open flames, bonfires, and cooking fires require specific management authorisation in a designated area.

Guests, Visitors & Quiet Hours

  1. Only registered guests may stay overnight. Visitors/additional guests need prior approval and may incur charges.
  2. Respect other guests, neighbours, and everyone's privacy.
  3. Keep music/noise considerate, especially at night; follow management's quiet hours.
  4. Parties, events, and large gatherings require prior approval.
  5. Follow occupancy limits and staff safety instructions.

Electrical, Fire & General Safety

  1. Do not tamper with electrical panels, wiring, fire extinguishers, emergency equipment, or security devices.
  2. Switch off lights, ACs, and appliances when not needed.
  3. No hazardous, explosive, or illegal substances on the property.
  4. Immediately report fire hazards, gas leaks, electrical faults, or suspicious activity.

Pets & Surroundings

  1. Pets are welcome with prior coordination. Owners must supervise them and clean up after them.
  2. Pets must not disturb guests or damage furniture, bedding, landscaping, or property.
  3. Do not feed, chase, tease, or harm animals on the property or in the surrounding natural environment without permission.

Check-out & Final Responsibility

  1. Vacate at the agreed check-out time unless an extension is approved.
  2. Return keys, access cards, and borrowed items before departure.
  3. Report accidental damage or breakage before check-out.
  4. Management may inspect for missing items or damage under property procedures and applicable law.
  5. Additional charges must be reasonably assessed and explained; guests may request an itemised explanation.
